Exploring NC and beyond with a brush
Vic Vickers, based in Elon, NC, is an acrylic painter with over 26 years of experience, following earlier work in oils and watercolors. Inspired by travels across his native NC his work spans impressionism, semi-realism, and abstract. He has also worked as a cartoonist for two newspapers and created the second version of the Mickey Mouse Barn in Whitsett, NC.

Now that life lets me spend more time devoted to art I wanted to share the various mediums I have employed over my life. If you find a piece below that you would like to discuss feel free to reach out to me. I love to talk art! Like most I began with crayons, then pencil, then one day I needed a background for my aquarium. I pulled out my old 1st grade dry watercolor set and copied a Roger Dean piece called Relayer. I have loved the brush since. Here you’ll find pen, watercolors, oils,and my preferred medium acrylics. I also did some cartooning for a couple local papers and of course some murals when the opportunity appeared. I hope you enjoy!
